Br. Thomas Martin was born in Mexico and raised in Texas. He is the oldest of nine children. After a period of discernment after high school, he entered formation with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and was sent to study at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, and graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and Letters with a concentration in political philosophy. He went on for graduate studies and graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, with an M.A. in Pastoral Studies. Br. Thomas Martin encountered many Dominican friars throughout his formation and was inspired by the Dominican charism to preach truth and mercy. After a period of uncertainties and obstacles and with the grace of God, Br. Thomas Martin applied to the Province of St. Martin de Porres where he wishes to share his gifts and talents with other brothers in preaching the Gospel in the South. Br. Thomas Martin enjoys table tennis, ultimate frisbee, reading, hiking, traveling, and learning languages. Br. Thomas Martin received the habit of the Order on August 9, 2021.
