Ciaroscuro Is More Than an Artistic Technique (April 7, 2019)
A good student of history, especially of Catholic history, knows that clarity and obscurity seem to be inseparable. For example, sacred art simultaneously reveals and obscures aspects of faith. This interplay is expressed in the optional custom to veil sacred art in the final days of Lent.
